History of Opioids

Prior to 2012, oxycodone was the opioid most commonly involved in opioid-related deaths. However, after the introduction of a tamper-deterrent formulation, oxycodone involvement in these deaths decreased, and other opioids became increasingly involved. In particular, fentanyl involvement increased by 548% between 2006 and 2015 and is now the opioid most commonly involved in opioid-related deaths. (Source: April 2017, Ontario Drug Policy Research Network (OPPRN), review of data from 1991-2015)

I have been a patient at Road to Recovery clinic for several years after switching from another methadone clinic. Under the doctor’s expert care, I switched to Suboxone and have felt great ever since. The staff are respectful and never condescending. I want to thank Road to Recovery for all their help - from the bottom of my heart
